Welcome

Iowa is a great place to live, work and play. We want to make it even better.

What's Hot Now

  • New paddling instruction opportunities scheduled: Strokes and Moving Water Work Clinic on April 23, 2016 and Kayak Eddy Skills and Surfing Clinic on April 24, 2016. Sign up soon -- space is limited.
  • Cold water safety is essential as paddlers get back out on the water. The air may be warm, but the water is still shockingly cold. Check out our links to excellent online Cold Water Survival resources.

    Who We Are

Whitewater paddlers and friends from diverse groups across Iowa have organized into a strong non-profit group, the Iowa Whitewater Coalition, to advocate for paddlesport activities in Iowa. The primary focus of the group seeks to reconnect the waterways specifically for safe whitewater paddling, but to be inclusive of flatwater paddling and other recreational boating.

    Our Mission

To promote, support and improve whitewater courses and water trails by reconnecting the rivers throughout Iowa.
