CanoeSport Outfitters Weekly Demos Lake Ahquabi State Park near Indianola.  See schedule at CanoeSport Outfitters. (starting May 5)
 
Paddlin' at the Pits,  Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m., meet at Ames' Ada Hayden Park on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesday of each month and at Story County's West Peterson Park on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. (May into Sep) See Skunk River Paddlers.
 
Swiftwater Thursday, Thursdays, 6:30 p.m., Commerce Ledges on the Raccoon River, West Des Moines. (May into Sep, water levels permitting between 700-3000 cfs. Click here to the check USGS gauge.)

* Whitewater paddling is an inherently dangerous sport. Although boaters always try to look out for each other and manage risk, bad things can happen on the river – or while driving to or from there. You must be an IWC member and sign our liability waiver to participate on an IWC outing.
