CanoeSport Outfitters Weekly Demos Lake Ahquabi State Park near Indianola.  See schedule at CanoeSport Outfitters.
 
Paddlin' at the Pits,  Wednesdays, arrive at Ames' Ada Hayden Park and start gearing up at 6:30 pm. Paddle until dark. (May into Sep) See Skunk River Paddlers.
 
Swiftwater Thursday, Thursdays, 6:30 p.m., Commerce Ledges on the Raccoon River, West Des Moines. (May into Sep, water levels permitting between 700-3000 cfs. Click here to check the USGS gauge.)

* Whitewater paddling is an inherently dangerous sport. Although boaters always try to look out for each other and manage risk, bad things can happen on the river – or while driving to or from there. You must be an IWC member and sign our liability waiver to participate on an IWC outing.
