Portage options: Do not paddle or float over the dam above the whitewater area. Dangerous recirculations and life threatening currents may exist there. Take-out on the right above the Main Street Dam.

Comments: In 2011 the City of Charles City completed a project that remediated low head dam hazards at the former lower/beauty dam.
