Becoming a member

The Iowa Whitewater Coalition welcomes all people who are interested in enjoying and improving whitewater and water trail opportunities in Iowa.

Basic level dues are $20.00 per calendar year per household or $10 for students. Memberships expire at the end of the calendar year. Lifetime memberships are awarded for individual contributions of $500 or more.

IWC Membership Application Form

You don't even need to be a paddler to join the Iowa Whitewater Coalition. If you do plan to paddle with us, however, you will need to sign the Hold-Harmless Agreement that is included on page four in the IWC bylaws. Print, complete, sign and mail the Hold-Harmless Argreement form with your membership application form. The waiver form is a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The free Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to open PDF documents. If you do not already have the reader, click the Get Acrobat button to the right of this paragraph.

Iowa Whitewater Coalition is an affiliate of American Whitewater. That relationship started in 2004, and (literally) paid off quickly when American Whitewater selected IWC to receive a $500 grant through its ClifBar 2004 grant program. IWC's membership can directly benefit you, too! Your IWC membership entitles you to a $10 discount for your AW membership. For $25 (regularly $35), you'll receive the magazine American Whitewater Journal quarterly and help support some of your favorite whitewater rivers nationwide. Click here to learn more about American Whitewater. Only paid IWC members are allowed to do this. Request your AW membership promotion code after paying the current year's IWC membership. Then go to AW's website to join AW.

IWC and American Whitewater are 501(c)3 non-profit organizations and your donations are tax deductible. If you choose a membership level or donation level at or greater than $50, you will receive a formal tax receipt by mail. If you have any questions about the tax deductible amount of your AW dues or donation, please call at 866-262-8429.
